this is my review of the bamboozle. I did not make it to the Flipside, due to people changing their minds at the last min (i ended up in CT) ______________________________________
Hello, This is Elvis, with the review of one of the biggest Festivals N.J Could bring. The 2nd year of The Bamboozle.
The Bamboozle last year was held in Asbury Park, N.J. It was 3 days long and each day had a approximatly 100 bands each day. It had bad reviews because bands had Short sets, and security was uptight. The Sound was also horrible.
this year was 2 days long as the Headline for Saturday was Fall out boy and sunday's headline was Taking Back Sunday. The Fest was held right outside on the parking lot of the giants Stadium. 6 stages, 1 amazing time.
First band i saw perform were my good friends, The Sleeping. I have booked the Sleeping here a few times, and i would have to say this band has incredible energy and wow's the fans each time they play. The Sleeping are now signed to Victory records and are doing tours with the likes of Silverstein, say Anything, bayside, etc. If you have not heard of the Sleeping, check them out. Also their victory records debut cd comes out may 30th, and is called "questions and Answers"
the 2nd band i saw perform was Van Stone. Van Stone was quite a band to see. Mostly a joke band and really good entertainment. the band pretty much dressed in 80's rock with long hair, crazy look. At one point the band brought out giant penises and squirted water out into the crowd. Although they cussed alot, talked about little girls and did some crude and werid things, i liked this band alot. very entertaining band. But would i pay to see this band.....ummmm...no.
3rd band i saw was hellogoodbye. Hellogoodbye is Power-pop, blends electro keyboards and is a very entertaining band. Although this set, their keyboards didnt work, it was still entertaining to see some Acoustic songs. the very last song their keyboards started working, but they played a techno Version of on of their songs, which got the crowd into the mood.
4th band i saw was Hit the lights. Normal Punk pop in my opinon. My first show was with this band, and they were good. Now they have a huge fan base and are a good band to see. but i would have to say the band was mediocore.
5th band i managed to catch and was very Anxious to see was Paramore. fronted by a very cute singer, but looks wasnt everything until she started singing. Not many bands are fronted by girls. I would have to say, if you want to hear something different, Paramore will be your next thing in your IPOD.
6th band i didnt really want to see but i stood their and watched was The Rocket Summer. If i wanted to see a man who was in love with his voice, i would have bought tickets to A william Hung show. the Rocket summer were good in their own way, buuut i thought they were horrible for the fact that the man was egotistical. didnt like the band, but hey, check them out for yourselves.
The Last 2 bands i got to see, i fell in love with. So much that i will be going to N.C. May 20th to see them Perform.
Minus the bear. Dancy-indie rock that spellbounds you to their sounds and lyrics. I could not stop shaking my body to the grooves and riffs they pulled off. I danced, and i danced alot. buy the Cd, because your new favorite band has just arrived.
the last band i got to see (my ride wanted to leave, yeah 10 hour ride+being angry=me leaving early)
MewithOutyou: This may sound werid, but the style of music is Amazing. Im going to say this once, and many times again. check out this band because this band will blow up. I cant really explain what it sounds like but he's preaching/singing. A christian band that acually puts forth god into their songs. Also the use of instuments (a pot and a stick? cowbells? accordian?), The Singer danced, jumped, flailed, and moved across the stage as he talked.

check them out. _______________________________
The Festival itself seemed to feel like warped Tour. Merch tents after Merch tents were lined up and food/Drinks were at outstanding prices. (water 3 Bucks!!) I do have to say the Sound was way way better than any other warped tour ive been to.
will i go again: i would say yes, but only for the fact that it was out of state and i had a fun time. but really, just another warped tour like event.
